A Photo Impression
of Sustain 2001
 

 

1. The 2001 edition of the Sustain international energy exhibition, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands,
organized exhibitions into theme groups and country pavilions.
At the Holland Solar Pavilion, visitors could meet representatives
of Dutch companies working with sustainable energy.



2. At Sustain 2001, the European Commission presented talks
on various RE themes by expert speakers.



3. "The time is right for renewable energy":

4. P. Vellinga, Director Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC),
informed the Sustain Conference about the "scary rise"
of global temperatures and the planet's waters.



5. Conference delegates had the opportunity for one-on-one exchanges
with the expert speakers. Here a delegate converses with H.J. Koch of
International Energy Association (IEA).



6. Speakers at the opening session of the 2nd CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Symposium included:
Co-Chair Michael Brown, ICA; Ferd Crone, Dutch MP;
Ludo van Halderen, EPON; Klaus Traube, German CHP Association.



7. The "sustainable" luncheon buffet at the CHP Symposium
offered mainly meat and fish dishes





8. At the Solar and Thermal session C. van der Leun of Ecofys NL
presented the Soltherm Europe Initiative to realize a structured increase
in the market development of solar thermal applications.



9. Eggers of OÖ Energiesparverband, Austria (center)
spoke at the Solar and Thermal session
about the "booming market for solar energy" in her region.



10. At the China Solar Thermal Workshop,
CREIA representative Zhu Junsheng
gave an overview of SWH (Solar Water Heater) technology development in China
followed by Li Junfeng (center) who spoke about China's policy
in solar thermal and market development. Zhi Li (right) translated.



11. At the China Pavilion,
Zhi Li (left) and Miao Hong dispersed information
about the China Renewable Energy Industries Association.



12 and 13. At the China Pavilion:
East and West talked the same language of renewable energy.



14. From India to Sustain came Unisun delegates
Chanakya Balaram (left) and Prof. Annie C. Mathew (right).



15. D.J. Zandman of Ubbink Nederland (right)
explained the virtues of do-it-yourself PV roof paneling.



16 and 17. At the Sustain Exhibition,
serious RE talks were the order of the day.
